The series „In the shadow of the visible invisible“ is an approach to elaborate the relation between the people living around Naples and the mount Vesuvius.
A huge eruption in 79 A.D. destroyed the city of Pompeji. Due to different reasons people decided to come back and to live next to the volcano. The last smaller eruption was in 1944, since then the volcano is „sleeping“. The main focus in this photographic work is the interaction between the unpredictable nature and the people living next to this remarkable natural phenomena.
